May 1 Kids Over Corporations Rally in Raleigh

5-1-2026

People of Faith for Public Schools and Pastors for NC Children (PNCC) will be joining thousands of educators from across North Carolina at the NC General Assembly on Friday, May 1, 2026 for our “Kids over Corporations” rally organized by the NC Association of Educators (NCAE). PNCC will have a table on Halifax Mall, so we hope you will stop by and visit. Look for our sign:

HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?

At the PNCC table during the event on Halifax Mall, clergy will be offering prayers and blessings to any educator who would like to participate. There will be a prayer wall and sticky notes that people are invited to write out their prayer requests and leave them on the wall.

The prayer and blessings can also involve finding a clergyperson at the PNCC table and asking for a prayer. These clergy are available to listen to prayer requests and offer prayer. They will also have olive oil available to offer blessings by either applying oil onto one’s forehead, arm, or the back of one’s hand. Anointing with oil is used in various ways in the Hebrew Bible and New Testament Scriptures. It is often used in prayers for healing or blessings. It is often used to represent compassion, prayer, unity, and love. It can mean whatever the person receiving the oil wants it to represent and is offered regardless of religious belief. Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate!
